Modded Xbox problem...please help

I bought a modded xbox with an xecuter 2.0 pro mod chip in it in a v1.0 xbox. I got it today and hooked it up but when I powered it on it does the intro animation, then says that my xbox requires service and to contact a service center. There is also a 16 in the top left, i assume it's an error number. There are 4 switches in the back for the mod chip, how do I know what they are supposed to be set at? I've tried all possible positions for the 4 dip switches, and it makes no difference. Is there another switch somewhere? Thanks.
