Modded vs Reg Raid cards

Promise UDMA/66 card modded to a fasttrak raid card. are the modded ones just as good as the Regular ones? cause i mean the modded ones are lots cheaper and was wondering if there basically same thing ?

they are the same thing once you've modded them from what i've read
