Nice clean job on the mod.

what size window is that?
i have the same case and looking to put a window into it...

I and none of my friends that have plexiglass windows have any problems with EMI shielding. If you nothing constructive to add, then don't add anything.

Mike

P.S. Zipperhead, Nice job on the case, and the setup of everything in the case.... Very clean looking interior 🙂

Zipperhead-

Question, why did you put the radiator in the front? It appears that you are sucking in from the front, through the radiator. Thus you are heating the air that you draw in. You would be drawing in cooler air and your cooling system would be more efficient if it did not pass through the radiator before entering the case.

Very clean look though. Nice job.

it blows out through the front.there are places on the back for more fans, but i left them open so cool air could be drawn in.
also buy doing it this way there is a steady flow of cool air
passing over the pci and agp cards.

is that an easy cd creator helper in your case? 🙂

it's a very clean job. i've got all the parts i need for my mod job, and when i go back home and have access to my dad's shop over winter break i'm going to do it. i'll post pics here so you guys can see what i'm up to.

good job again, zipper. now all you need is a paint job.

Man thats a nice ass mod. I have a Q500A also and I am anxiously waiting to mod mine. I love the water cooling setup, and the way you ran the cables behind the motherboard tray. Also you have alot of kickass internal components, you must really have lots of money to spend. 🙂 I think you should add a neon and paint the case to give it a nice look. But once I mod my case I will post for all to see and comment on. 😉

That's a very nice and neat looking case. You make me wanna do the same thing. Of course, I rather try and find someone I can pay to do it for me🙂

Damn that's a nice mod. I think it's the cleanest looking water-based cooling system I've ever seen. That rig is C-L-E-A-N! I've modded my case too what do you think of this My case

I left out the top thermometer faceplate.

Cheers

Hehe thanks. I'm probably giving it to my girlfriend though. If you're curious, the paint is white primer, glossy black, speckled black. The top is not done yet, in the process of designing a "sunroof." The LED lights make up the bay bus. If you wanna build a bay bus (to control your fans/neons like I do), go to virtualhideout

Happy holidays

Kick ass case Zipperhead! looks nice...

I agree that you should paint it though! would look even better.

Coldfusion,

How much of a pain in the backside was that biohazard logo to cut in the side of your case? Im thinkin about a Q3A one in mine.

Hey, KouklatheCat how's it going? Let's see, the backside (nice reference). The actual cutting took about 4 hours. That's quite a lot of time considering this was an 8"x8" cutout. The secret is to make your stencil as smooth as possible (use very thin cardboard like the kind you find in a 3-pack men's briefs <---you can't go wrong with these kinds of cardboard).

Cut the stencil using a thin razor blade as if you're drawing it, not slicing <---causes jaggy edges

Spray paint your logo into your siding then use a thin marker to make adjustments if necessary. My friend and I discovered that this method was more effective than just tracing the outline of the logo. (while cutting, you'll get sparks and stuff that'll obscure the details)

It was finished off with a quick grinding dremel attachment. (don't go crazy with this, it'll really mess up the curves, quick and easy for the burrs)

Pain in the ass: sanding by hand to really smooth it out. Attaching the lexan was no sweat.

I think the Q3 logo will look sick!! Before you do the actual cutting, warm your wrists up (I know it sounds gay, but it really helps in reducing injury, remember you'll be cutting for a damn long time). Wear dust masks.

Good luck with your project and send us some photo links once you get it done. Peace

Zipperhead,

That's one hell of a mod. I can't believe how neatly you have everything setup. Inside my case looks like sh*t. Hey, I pick up an idea on how to hide my cables now 🙂

hee, hee, i am too chicken to play with that type of cooling -(

;-)

anyway nice, all you need now is a paint job.
