I have just noticed that I can now edit ANYONE's message! Should this be happening?

hmm, that's interesting, I didn't try to edit someone's message, but I hit edit for one of my own and noticed it was for the original poster's. I don't recall seeing the edit option for any posts but my own before......

heh, tried on your reply and you're absolutely right:Q
weird huh?

One more time, its there because of allowing users to post without using cookies, you CANNOT EDIT anyones message you can try but you will be denied. This is no different than some of the other BBS's out there i.e UBB.

:) It's no problem. I'll explain a bit so you understand why.. The way the edit button used to work before this new feature was it wouuld check was this message posted by you if yes show the button.. of course you had to be logged in for this to work. Now, with the addition of the new allow users who dont want to use cookies to just post with their login info that has changed. So now there is no way when we are listing messages to tell if you are the person who posted the message. So thats why the button shows for everyone and the check is done later.

I just want to state that I did not edit anyone's posts...

By the time I figured out what was going on, it was too late!
