I was just wondering if amazon.com will price-match. Don't fall off your chair laughing, but I'm a newb when it comes to Hot Deals (although I've been around AT for quite some time).

EDIT: As I haven't frequented this forum, I didn't know this was a no-no. Sorry.

This forum is reserved for posting hot deals. Questions like this probably go in the How Do I? thread.

But, the answer to your question is "no". You can notify them of lower prices and they may lower their price later and then you can order at the lower price, but I have done that several times and they have never lowered their price to match a competitor.

Thanks for the reply. As I said, I'm a newb at this.

You are welcome. As a newb you will probably get a few warm, perhaps flaming, welcomes to the forum with references to the rules about what you can post where, along with a nice lock logo on the thread, courtesy of the mods. ;)

This actually worked for me once. The competitor also offered free shipping just like Amazon. They later lowered the price to be one penney less than the competitor.

But Amazon had a $5 off coupon, whereas the competitor didn't. Made for a great deal!

This is true, they have done that to me, they never lower any prices, that notify them for lower prices is useless.
