Hi guys, I wanted to give you an update about the "Why Is Radeon Much Cheaper Than NVIDIA" thread. As I'm sure some of you have noticed, it is no longer here.

In brief, we have accidentally (and irrevocably) deleted the thread while trying to delete some spam posts from it. The thread itself was fine and was in no way being touched for its content, but the mod in question inadvertently deleted the whole thread rather than the individual spam post they were targeting. Furthermore since it was spam they used a hard delete (rather than a soft delete), and as a result the thread was truly deleted rather than simply being moved/hidden.

On behalf of the mods we would like to apologize for this. Unfortunately we have no practical way to restore the thread (the regular server backups are cumbersome whole-forum backups), so we will not be able to bring back the thread in any manner.

Finally, I wanted to note that we're well aware of how much time and effort you guys had put into that thread (12 pages long at last count), and what it means to have all of it so unceremoniously deleted. So once again, we offer our sincerest apologies for removing your posts like that, and will be taking steps to avoid that kind of accident in the future.:|

edit:
Virge may be correct but I am looking into it with the IT folks on whether it can be restored.

I know there was a select few that didnt want the thread or like the content but it was a very popular thread over the short time it existed.......and it was very civil.

Once more I'd like to congratulate to all thread participants on the dignity and civility displayed despite the HOT and controversial topic at hand ;)

@ocre 100% agreed.
I am almost shocked how calm it all went

Meh.....One only has to visit forums with dedicated driver review/issues threads to immediately see that a lot of the comments in that thread were hogwash...

...and nothing of value was lost :p [/jk]

Seriously though, thanks for owning up to the mistake and explaining the situation. The openness is greatly appreciated.

True but I did discover when I purchased my new HDMI/VGA only monitor last week, Nvidia have still not fixed the full 0-255 RGB issue via HDMI unless you use third party fix ,how many Nvidia owners know about that and yes effects me as a Nvidia owner,https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/523992/tip-for-nvidia-users-using-hdmi-and-getting-accurate-color-format/ .

Getting back on topic and doing a recap I think Nvidia are more established in the gaming area then AMD,which as you know purchased ATI awhile back,they have to be competitive with Nvidia and pricing is one key area where they can do this.

Personally I use both AMD/ATI and Nvidia cards depending on performance and value for money.
