Hi guys, I wanted to give you an update about the "Why Is Radeon Much Cheaper Than NVIDIA" thread. As I'm sure some of you have noticed, it is no longer here.
In brief, we have accidentally (and irrevocably) deleted the thread while trying to delete some spam posts from it. The thread itself was fine and was in no way being touched for its content, but the mod in question inadvertently deleted the whole thread rather than the individual spam post they were targeting. Furthermore since it was spam they used a hard delete (rather than a soft delete), and as a result the thread was truly deleted rather than simply being moved/hidden.
On behalf of the mods we would like to apologize for this. Unfortunately we have no practical way to restore the thread (the regular server backups are cumbersome whole-forum backups), so we will not be able to bring back the thread in any manner.
Finally, I wanted to note that we're well aware of how much time and effort you guys had put into that thread (12 pages long at last count), and what it means to have all of it so unceremoniously deleted. So once again, we offer our sincerest apologies for removing your posts like that, and will be taking steps to avoid that kind of accident in the future.:|

edit:
Virge may be correct but I am looking into it with the IT folks on whether it can be restored.
