I personally like unfiltered discussion, but there are merits to filtering out the crap. I'd estimate that 80% of AT would be banned before reaching the equivalent of senior member over there.

did any of you read to the bottom? they were given a warning because they want people to respond to the fresh post, not the OP. given how long the thread was, and depending on what forum software they use, it's not really that out of line. threads get closed here for necrobumping (tm) all the time. it's not like they were being warned for content or anything.

A lot of people just received the following warning:

If you reply to a bumped thread, reply to the bump, not the OP.

We try to keep things organized. loladin did the right thing by finding a thread about pausing to group his question together. This keeps things organized. However, the system breaks down when people ignore the bumped post and respond directly to the OP.

If you post in a thread with an "Old Post" tag, find the post that isn't old and see if the conversation topic has changed.

I agree as Kyle personally banned me over a disagreement on early Athlon mods 10 years ago.

The worst moderation I ever saw was at Insightcentral.net about 3 years ago. The mod at the time would actually warn users if small talk started. His policy was basically to state the facts and nothing else. Not long after he was finally pushed out.

Lol, so true. If AT were the wild west there'd be mad confusion as to why all the Mexicans in town had the same last name: Señor Member.

P&N would be the OK Corral, Garage the livery stable, FS/FT the General Store, L&R the upstairs bordello at Nell's Saloon, and OT the drunk tank in the local jail.

I'd be Marshall Quiet Burp, and I'd be facing down the lynch mob clamoring to string up that no-good, low-down Hoarse Queef neckbeard.

There'd be Unwanted posters all over town for him.
