So were doing Mock Trial in social studies and were doing Yerttle the Turtle. It's a story Dr. Seuss wrote and this is what happened.

Story:

-Yerttle is the king of a land.
-He wants to rule more land.
-To rule more land he has to see it.
-So to see it he stacked turtles on top of each other to make his thrown higher.
-One turtles back gets cracked.
-He Sues Yertle the King.

Now I'm defending Yertle the King and I need some more arguments. It's ok if you make somthing up I just need a lead.

This kid in my class thinks hes like the best lawyer ever because he studies law everyday and I know I'm like smarter than him but he doesnt know it and I want to show him I'm better lol.

Just give me a lead please.....

Thanks.

Isn't it about your bedtime?

Yerttle is obviously Lord Sovereign of the land. Therefore, Yerttle's word is law. Yerttle is thus innocent.

And furthermore, the plaintiff, his comrades, and all their families need to be executed as traitors to King Yerttle.

Yea I need to have a firm argument against him in case he makes up that there is like a constitution or something.

What court was Yerttle sued in? As king, isn't yerttle hte supreme magistrate of all the courts in his land? If so, then Yerttle has the final say in any judgement made in his own courts. Let the peasant turtle sue, it's not like he has a chance of winning when his opponent is the one making the call.

Bring up the past instances of lying. That'll ruin the credibilty of the witness FTW! :D

And since you're the king, you can make stuff up!

If he starts pulling out that constitution BS, start calling him a commie sympathizer and say that maybe HE needs to be executed as a traitor to King Yerttle.
