m wounderin what boards are gonna supportthe new CPU's 2600+ and 2800+ when they finally come out.

will any of todays existing boards support them or do we have to wait for a new chipset???

also will a bios update make them work on an older XP board? or will we juat have to wait and see about that?

The Asus A7N266-VM supports the 2600+ with the latest BIOS revision, although I doubt you're after a microATX board for the 2600+. In fact... aha, yes:

Asus 2600+ compatibility chart
EPoX CPU-compatibility chart including the 2600+ (this is a PDF file via FTP).

Looks like MSI's KN420Pro, KM266-based MS-6390, KT3 Ultra-2 and 2C will all support the 2600+ too. Remember that the 2600+ is going to run a 266MHz bus, not the new 333MHz bus, so it shouldn't come as a huge surprise that so many boards are going to support it. The 2700+ and 2800+ are going to be 333MHz-bus processors, and some KT333 and all KT400 boards are going to support them, along with nForce2 if/when it ever peeks out onto the market.

Now if we could just buy the darned 2600+'s, huh? :| At least I don't know where. Newegg had 2400+'s on and off, but they keep pulling the listing when they run out.

My Epox 8K5A2 reads my CPU as a 2400+, with the latest BIOs (Running a AXP1600+ (1.4ghz) @ 1.9ghz).
