The purpose of this cable, is to be able to utilize a case's built-in USB3.0 front ports, using an (older) mobo's USB2.0 headers. The USB3.0 front ports will only work at 2.0 speeds then, but they will be usable ports.
Maybe something to keep one of in the toolbin, in case one of your builds needs it?
