has anyone upgraded their mother board since getting xp? i am going from a kt266 by epox to the sn41g2 by shuttle, and i remember having serious mobo upgrade issues with 2000. should i expect the same with xp? i have the professional version, so no reactivation is needed.

if i will have trouble, what can i do to prevent it?

When ever you upgrade your board, you always have to reinstall the OS, different chipsets require different drivers.

I say go with a clean install, but only cause I like to wipe things clean every now and then.
I upgraded and just updated all the drivers cause I didn't have the resources or time to do a clean install.
One thing you'll most likely have to do is reactivate. WinXP took one look at a new motherboard and said "100% new system"

BTW, professional does have to be activated.
It is the corporate version, in particular, that does not have to be activated, which I assume is what you have.
