Mobo trouble!

Hey everyone,

I just bought my new system; got an e6400 with a MSI P975x Platinum mobo. I installed MSI's dual core center utiltiy, it keeps the computers temperature under check.

Anyway, it keeps on annoying me with a burglar alarm like sound after every 10 mins or so 😛 It does this whenever my CPU's fan speed drops from 1054 to 958, but the drop lasts usually for just a second. Anyway my cpu's temperature is 35 and my system temperature is 38, do I need to worry about anything? Or should I just disable the Dual Core Center utility?

 
Get rid of it. I hate most motherboard manufacturer nonsense utilities.

If you're worried, go into your BIOS and set the CPU Temperature alarm to 75°C. That way if it somehow magically overheats you'll find out, not just predictable fluctuations in fan speed.
