I've been out of touch in the tech world for quite a while. I've convinced my wife to allow me to slowly upgrade the computer. In other words, one component at a time. My current rig is:

AMD 3000+ Winchester
MSI Neo2 Plat.
4x512 Corsair Value Select
GeForce 6800

I recently bought a GeForce 7800GT, and my next purchase is going to be the mobo. I will be upgrading the RAM, however, I'll have to use what I have for a month or two. Personally, I don't need SLI, so I'm generally staying away from those boards. I wouldn't mind using the DFI Ultra-D, but I've read countless reports of incompatability between it and the RAM I currently have. I've thought about the A8N-SLI Premium, but again, I don't need (or plan on) getting another video card to use SLI.

Due to my upgrade plan, what are the motherboards you'd suggest? I'm still really tempted to just try out the DFI Ultra-D, but at the same time, I generally don't like to spend more money than I have to... especially if there are known problems. I don't overclock; however, I usually buy overclocking boards because I think they're generally better quality.

Thoughts?
