Mobo sound Questions

Just bought Soyo kt400 dragon ultra platinum. the c-media on board sound
and its' interface looks interesting, Have Audigy
gamer, and cambridge 5300.It looks as though I can even channel through
the audigy but I can't see how without uninstalling the audigy drivers
and its interface.I could remove the audigy altogether and use their adaptor but I would be robbing myself of certain connections, for as you know the 5300 speakers are not optical,or spdif, leaving only two connections for speakers. Anyone tried this, or shall I be the first.
Any input from onboard c-media users would be appreciated.

If you got the audigy I would use it. Still better than on-board audio to me. My mb has on board I tried using. If I put the volume up a little my speakers would sound crackly. Using my audigy the sound is a lot cleaner.

Yeah, I agree. I have C-Media sound codecs on my board as well, and I just don't like it at all. Even my Aureal Vortex sounds better, and that hasn't been made for years. I don't view onboard sound as a solution for people who buy the board themselves, it's mostly a convenience for OEMs that have one less thing to configure and support. Go with the Audigy, it sounds MUCH better 🙂

I have also noticed alot of people having problems with the via4in1
drivers and the audigy,I am using the first edition, and am having none.
Its just that the c-media interface and other goodies look so inviting;not nessessarily better.
also at thier site they show a setup passing from the mobo through the Audigy
giving you the ablity to connect any speakers,or amps you could ever want.
