Mobo shorted out?

Help?

I think I might be screwed on this. I was taking out my Tyan Thunder S2462 mobo to replace the I/O shield on my case. In the process, I got hung up on a cable and had to set the board down on the offsets (not lined up). I reinstalled everything and now the PS/2 mouse will not work (even after clearing the CMOS) and the system crashes when I try to open any program. Now I am wondering if: #1 ? I shorted out the board which is causing the mouse not to work, and #2, if it is also likely that the RAM and/or MP processors are junk now too?

Luckily enough, the AMEX Blue Purchase Protection Plan is covering it (I LOVE my AMEX Blue!)

Maybe the new I-O shield is keeping the mouse adapter from fully seating. Also, check memory chip clips and MB cable connectors - it's real easy to inadvertently knock something loose. Once I spent three days troubleshooting what appeared to be OS and hard drive problems before noticing that, while fussing inside the case, I'd sprung one of the DIMM clips.
