Hi folks,

I've got a 6 year old ASUS P2B with a Celeron 266 and a 5GB HDD (forgot what brand) running WinXP. It never gave me any problems; but recently it doesn't want to boot once in a while. The BIOS would prompt BOOT DISK ERROR as if it the hard drive isn't there. I can't hear any clicking or any other sound that could point to a near faulty HDD. If I retry a few more times, the thing boots up normally.

Any idea on which part is failing?

Thanks!

Yeah with that message it sounds like the HDD may be failing. Is this the only fault indication you've noticed?

5GB? :D :) :p

Yups. But it seems to be "more" ok today. Not sure whether it could be the mobo or not {g}

Uhh.. Yeah ;) My dad's the only one using it and he only plays Solitaire and surfs the net :p
