mobo question

in regarding specs from mobos:
viewing some of the specs from MSI neo4 and DFI, I see this:

pci Express x16

Neo has only 1 slot and DFI has 2.

so, what is "pci express x16"???


also, one of the boasrd has "S/PDIF In"... can someone tell me what that is?

PCI express x16 is currently the slot used for PCI-e video cards. If the DFI has two, it's probably because it supports SLI.

S/PDIF is a digital audio connector.

Google (or the search function) is what should be used for questions like this.

i did do a "pci express x16" search and didnt return a post that would inform me of what it is. Just people specifying a mobo with pci express x16 feature in it.

but yeah I didnt bother searchign spdif which is my fault and doing so now, my answer would have been answered.


but thx for telling about pci express x16.. guess im probably stll sticking with MSI neo4 since i wont bother with dual vid cards.
