Have an ECS Socket A mobo, when i put on the cpu and the fan/hs , and turn her on, the lite on the mobo comes on, the fan starts up, but i get no beep sequences at all. Is this the CPU gone bad?

Any input would be most helpful!

Uh oh.... it seems like it. Try resetting the CMOS with the CMOS reset jumper on board. Also try a different stick of ram and if possible try the CPU in a different motherboard. It might also be a crapped out motherboard :(.

BTW refer to the Official ECS thread in this forum... that might help you out.

Most likely not the MB, but can be many other things. The "Official K7S5A Thread is located Here. You will see the same posting as yours there. Be ready to do some reading though. The quick and dirty is reseat your video and RAM several times, make sure you have an AMD approved PS specifically rated for your CPU, Clear the CMOS, etc. Try those and do the reading. Post in the official thread if you still have trouble.
