I put together a computer for my wife so I could get the use of my own back I have a simple question. Her computer is Fic AZ11 mobo, Duron 700, 96 mb Kingston. My questions concerns her onboard sound on the mobo. Its nice but the quality is not that great. If I install a sound card will I be able to use the onboard connections as well. I also have a mic input on my modem card will that work with a sound card and the onboard sound also. Reason being that the speaker system with her computer does not have a plug directly in to the speaker set for Mic or headphones so I could use the extra plugs.

If you install a new sound card, you will need to use it's ports. In order to get the new one to work, you have to disable the onboard sound via the BIOS so it will completely disable it. I'd definetly reccomend that. Get the SBLIVE Value at a little under $50 and you should be in good shape.
