Sorry for the cross post put this in the MoBO forum but really it belongs here

So I have an VNF4 chaintech MoBo. Computer no longer turns on. Looked through the manual, no LED or beep codes in it. Looked at their website no codes turned up.

So here goes:
No beeps.
HD light on
Power light flashing

No post. Tired an S3 Virge (yes that old) PCI card (no agp slots) and my LCD hooked via analog to try and check the video card went bad.

HD spin up. Fans spin.

Anyone know what those combo of lights mean? Multiple people post please so that I know where I have to waste money.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Try pulling the CMOS battery overnight, and then reinstall and see if that helps.

Don't expect to get much support from Chaintech (there is a reason they are about $6 cheaper than others).

Doing a quick search on the vnf4 shows a lot of people with POST problems, and I guess it is usually caused by memory.

Beeps are what you listen for to diagnose a problem, not the LED's. Some mobo's might have a little digital display of the error code on the mobo, but chaintech doesn't put this kind of thing on their boards. Try here: http://www.bioscentral.com/beepcodes/awardbeep.htm (standard beep codes).

Try starting without a video card or memory installed, and see if you can get it to beep at all. If not, it's probally a bad mobo. (btw, make sure the pc speaker line is hooked up to the mobo unless it goes through onboard audio)

BTW... if you think that s3virge is old, I still use my trident 2mb vga for diagnosing.
