I have an a7v333 mobo from asus it has a X4 AGP slot and supports DDR memory. Now i want to buy a Asus GeForce 6600 GT 128MB DDR3 AGP-version videocard. The agp version of Geforce 6600 GT is X8 AGP and DDR3.

My guess is that i would be able to buy this card and use it however it will run on max X4 AGP and on DDR instead of DD3. Is my guess right? and if i am able to use it would i be better of buying just a DDR card, does the X8 agp/DDR3 have any other cons like latency?.

Thanks.

Yes, it will. The system memory only affects the video memory if you have a shared (integrated) gfx chip, and even then, it doesn't matter what version of ddr it is. You will be able to run this setup fine. Welcome to the forums!:D

There is absolutely no connection between the type of video card memory and the type of regular system memory. You'll be completely and totally fine with them being different.
