Mobo is DDR, Videocard DDR3, will it work right?

I have an a7v333 mobo from asus it has a X4 AGP slot and supports DDR memory. Now i want to buy a Asus GeForce 6600 GT 128MB DDR3 AGP-version videocard. The agp version of Geforce 6600 GT is X8 AGP and DDR3.

My guess is that i would be able to buy this card and use it however it will run on max X4 AGP and on DDR instead of DD3. Is my guess right? and if i am able to use it would i be better of buying just a DDR card, does the X8 agp/DDR3 have any other cons like latency?.

Yes, it will. The system memory only affects the video memory if you have a shared (integrated) gfx chip, and even then, it doesn't matter what version of ddr it is. You will be able to run this setup fine. Welcome to the forums!

There is absolutely no connection between the type of video card memory and the type of regular system memory. You'll be completely and totally fine with them being different.
