mobo heating up?

plz help. i dunno much about cooling so thanx for reading 🙂

i have a xp2400+ chip with an asus deluxe a7n8x mobo and vantec airflow cooling. here's the problem. i go into bios and it says my cpu/mobo temperature both under 35C.

when i boot into windows, I got several other things I run like
asus mobo probe: CPU = 34C / mobo 28C
sisoft sandra: CPU = overheated.
mobo monitor 5.3: case = 28C, CPU diode = 192C (?!?), and CPU socket = 34C.

i've heard ppl not configuring mm wrong and get high CPU diode temps like me. but its inconsistent data. what else should i do or tests to run? thanx for reading 😛

really? but 2 out of 4 tests are saying my mobo is being fried?

anyone got another method to determine for real if CPU is overheating.

in the meantime i will try to configure mm correctly cuz that 192 C is freaking me out

I never used the ASUS probe. MBM now has a config option which makes for an easy setup. During the install, just select your board and let it do the rest. I've used it on ASUS, Abit and Shuttle and the results have been consistent with the BIOS readings. If your cpu was at really at 192C then it's a safe bet you would not have sent this message, at least not from that computer. 😉
