Mobo going bad

So my computer stopped working and I took it to microcenter to get it checked and they said the Mobo was bad and asked if I wanted to pay to get a new one installed. I said no and tried to install a new one myself but it still didn't turn on so I took it back to microcenter to have them check it agian and Then they said the new Mobo was bad agian. So I'm wondering what I'm doing that is causing the Mobo to go bad?? I helped my friend put in his Mobo and it worked fine but when I'm doing it for my computer it wont start at all. Help!!

If you are already taking your PC to Micro Center, why not just pay them to install it?

It could be any number of components that could be the issue. But if they claim it is the motherboard and install a new one, it should work.

OP: You also haven't told us anything other than "I put it in and it doesn't work." If you want help, you'll need to provide details.

I did ask if they could install it for me but they said they won't be responsible for it because the computer was self built. But I guess I should just let them do it anyways
