I'm doing a inexpensive build using a x2 555be. If the the cores unlock, that's a bonus. I'll be overclocking w/ a new HSF. I'd like a reliable excellent OC'ing mobo w/ a 8xx chipset, USB 3/ DDR3 1600 support and no onboard video for about $80. Any help would be appreciated. Oh, Ill be using a Viewsonic 20.1" 1400x1050 monitor.

If you're looking for no onboard video, GX and FX chipsets are the only ones that meet that criteria. Problem is finding a board with said chipsets at $80. I'm sure they exist but even a quick search on Newegg for a GX board and you're looking at around $100. On the other hand, 880G has plenty of choices at the $80 range.

i think you meant to say FX-only chipsets regarding no onboard video. both the 790GX and 890GX had integrated video (4290 and 3300 respectively). and although 880G mobos are in the OP's price range, they all have 4250 onboard video.

OP, if you're looking for an 8xx mobo that meets all 3 criteria, you need to look at 870 and 890FX chipset mobos. the 890FX boards start around $130 (maybe you can do better if you look around), and the 880G boards start around $100.

What's the difference between a 880G and 880FX?
in all the researching i did on AMD chipsets for my Phenom II CPUs, i never came across an 880FX chipset. as far as i know, the previous FX north bridge was the 790FX, and the current FX north bridge is the 890FX. just go to newegg, bring up a 790FX mobo and an 890FX mobo and compare them side-by-side. colonel gives good advice - the ASRock 870iCafe comes very close to what you're looking for - 8xx chipset, core unlocking firmware, good MSI reliability, most likely a good overclocker, DDR1600+ support, no onboard video, and $82.98 shipped @ newegg right now. the only thing it doesn't have is USB3 support.

if you're willing to spend another $7, then get the ASRock 870 Extreme3 - it has all the features you're looking for - including USB3 - for only $89.99 shipped @ newegg. and if you're willing to spend $5 more ($94.99 shipped @ newegg), then you can have ASUS's entry level 870 board, the M4A87TD-EVO, which has all the features that the ASRock 870 Extreme3 has, but will almost certainly be more reliable and most likely be a better overclocker.
