Hey ya'll,

I'm considering building a high-end, full-featured, future-looking X99/DDR4 ATX/eATX system in the next few months, and would like specific model recommendations for the mobo....

I have used Gigabyte, MSI and Asus Z77/87 boards up until now and had really good luck with them, so anything from them would be great.

The machine will be used for some gaming, audio encoding/decoding, VPN, VM's, database, office apps and photoshop...

I have most of the other parts decided on already, but some input would help me decide if I need to reconsider any of those choices...

please state why you are recommending a particular board, I can read the specs, but user input tells the real story IMHO :D

TIA :)

There is a new X99 board that offers the new PCIe SSD adapter.. forgot the name of the protocol but I think it's an Asus. It's in the one of the Anandtech articles on the front pages

EDIT: form factor = SFF 8639, Tuf Sabertooth motherboard.

Thanks for that info...thats one a hell of a board, which looks like it could meet all my needs for a long time to come. I'll probably have to take out a 2nd mortgage on my house to buy it, but like I tell my wife.... it's better to spend my money on computer stuff, as opposed to booze/drugs/hookers or whatever, hehehehe hahahaha :D
