Im building a new system soon with an Athlon 64 3000+ or 3200+. Can anyone recommend a mobo that overclocks 1) easily and 2) with no problems? I have pretty much narrowed it down to the infamous Asus K8V and the MSI K8T Neo Fis2r. Leaning toward the MSI for overclock in windows.

Anyone with experience overclocking on either of these boards, please tell me how it went! :)

hmm, why do u say infamous? do u mean in_famous!?

i see people use this two boards the most.

if i will get an AMD setup, i will get either one. but just budget problem, both are quite over $140

The problem is RIGHT now there are no boards hat have PCI/AGP lock.

Best thing to do, if oyu can, is to wait for VIA and Nivida to come out with their next chipsets.

Hopefully by the end of the month boards with the nForce3 250 chipset will come out to market and give us the AGP/PCI lock that you'll need. I have had big problems with the MSI and cannot wait to get the new boards when they are released. You can get the Shuttle AN50R right now, with an AGP lock, but no PCI lock...it does seem to overclock well with some modification though.

Overclocks well stock for that matter :) It runs my 3000+@2.4ghz but I'd need voltage mods to go higher because that's the limit for my CPU on 1.7v or less.
