Mobo cracking?

Hi! I tried to install a Ninja heatsink on an a8n32. after many tried, the mobo made a crack sound...like something was bent. Everything looked fine and after many tries, i just switched back to the stock cooler.

Is this bad? It was very light because I wasn't pushing down hard.

Well it's certainly not good.

Mobos are generally made of layers of fiberglass with the interconnects sandwiched between them. Chances are that you cracked some of the epoxy in one of the inner layers... assuming it works and tests out OK, I wouldn't worry about it, but I would be more careful with that MB in the future because you may have lost a certain measure of structural stability and you don't want to aggravate any circuits or soldering contained within.
