I have a new system Asus AV7333, and want to install a copy of the HDD from my ECS K7S5A. What files should be deleted
in order for the new system to recognize the drive. I know it is
a gamble, but I dread the installing and copying all the files. Thewre must be a way of doing this where it can eventually it can work.
All suggestions are accepted.

Buz2b, excellent article, thats for calling it out. I have in the past just cloned the hard drive using software from the HDD manufacturer, if going to a new hard drive for a new system. As a result the OS ended up cluttered with alot of unnecessary drivers. This approach is a lot better, but the alternative of doing a clean install of everything, although better is very time consuming is very time consuming and the most recent drivers may not be avail on CDROM's.

mdcrab,
I agree, the process of doing a "clean start" can be daunting. I'd rather be shot. (J/K, ok. 😉) However, in my "old age" I have started to discover Drive Image from PowerQuest. This allows me to do incremental images of my hard drive in various states of rebuilding. Makes life much easier. 😀
