Typically, no. But if you have setting made in the BIOS that NEED TO BE so far from default that the PC can't function normally, sure.

Why not just take the battery out and stick it on your tongue? You'll find out if it's dead or not.

Or... Dead or not, JUST REPLACE IT. They're just CR2032 batteries available at any CVS or Walgreens, etc.
