can i know how does the mobo batt affect the mobo ??

It powers the BIOS chip so that when the pc is turned off, the bios chip is not wiped clean.

I shouldn't, you should just get all your BIOS settings gone.

Typically, no. But if you have setting made in the BIOS that NEED TO BE so far from default that the PC can't function normally, sure.

Why not just take the battery out and stick it on your tongue? You'll find out if it's dead or not.

Or... Dead or not, JUST REPLACE IT. They're just CR2032 batteries available at any CVS or Walgreens, etc.
