mobo and X-Fi

I heard that X-Fi cards have had alot of problems with nvidea mobos, the NVIDIA nForce 4 SLI Motherboard

I was planning on getting Creative Sound Blaster® X-Fi® High Definition 7.1 Audio and Intel® 975X Motherboard

My question is, does the X-fi card only not work with the NVIDEA mobo or all mobos?

Mine works fine in my ATI rig. From the problems I have heard I think nVidia based mobos had the larger share of problems. I wouldnt let it stop me from getting the X-Fi on a nVidia chipset mobo though, or a ATI chipset mobo for that matter.

I am unaware of these problems, I know too many people that have an nvidia chipset and xfi that work perfectly for me to believe that its a big problem. Who told you?

Older Motherboards had issues with the X-Fi, especially Nvidia chipset mobos. However, the X-Fi's out now have been newer firmware and motherboard manufacturers have released bios updates to fix most of these problems. Prior to the X-Fi Fata1ty I haven, I had an older X-Fi XtremeMusic that I mailed back to Creative and they sent me back a newer X-Fi XtremeMusic with the newer firmware. No issues.
