To anyone that owns a Dell Inspiron e1505 with one of these: Can it be OC'd, if so how much, and which program do you use. Lastly, what were your performance gains after the OC? Just curious b/c I bit the bullet and ordered my lappy with one. :) Thanks

It's a decent card depending on what you expect from it. I was able to overclock mine through the latest release of ATI tray tools from 432/396 (stock) up to 450/400. Nothing stellar, but i wanted some nice round clock numbers. I really see no point in pushing it any further. Overclocking laptop gpu's usually wont yield any real world performance gains. Why? Most aren't sufficiently cooled enough as it is, and very rarely can you monitor or modify them.

As for gaming, you'll be able to play most games, but at low resolutions and with little eye candy. But that's the trade off you make for gaming with laptops.

On a side note, I sure hope you purchased the sxga (1680 x 1050) screen upgrade. It'd sure be a waste of a gpu if you didn't ;). But nonethless, enjoy your new purchase!

heh, and if I said I didn't get that display... I live in a dorm with fluorescent lighting, which does NOT get along well with truelife coating. Someone down the hall from me has a screen like that and it almost doubles as a vanity mirror.

can the x1400 handle it?

The most intensive program i've tried is medieval total war II, and it runs pretty well on low-medium settings. I'll give BF2 a try if a demo is out.
