Do ATI's normal Catalyst drivers work with their mobility products? I don't want to go through the huge hassle of finding the driver on my notebook manufacturer's website. Even if I do find it, it'll probably be several revisions old.

Out of the box, Catalyst drivers do not work with Mobility Radeon. Omega offers repackaged/tweaked ATI Catalyst drivers that do support Mobility Radeons. You can also edit the *inf file of the Official Catalysts, I'll post it after I dig it up......after I get back up later today...

I'm using the Omega drivers in my notebook, with its 9600 Pro and I've got no problem at all with them.

I think ATi says you should use the mfr drivers on laptops. Their drivers do not support mobility products as standard.

yeah you can do the mod and get regular cats to work or else you can use the Omega drivers which is what I actually had to do in order to get Doom 3 to run without crashing on my laptop.
