Mobility Radeon 7500 and widescreen monitors?

I have a Dell Inspiron 4150 running XP Pro SP2 that I use almost exclusively plugged into a Dell Advanced Port Replicator Model No. PRX-7345U.

The 4150 has the Mobility Radeon 7500. VGA only - no DVI.

I recently bought a 20" widescreen LCD, but it looks terrible.

Can the 7500 support the newer widescreen LCDs? If so, how can I do it and/or where can I get the drivers to make it so?

Thanks.

The Radeon 7500 in my Compaq Evo N610C only supports up to 1024x768 resolution in 32 bit color, never tried 16 bit to see if the res would go any higher.

What's the native res of your LCD? Maybe we can come up with a resolution for you to run that won't look so bad...

The default resolution is 1680x1050.

Right now, the only options I am being given ar 1280x1024, 1024x768 and 800x600 on both 32 and 16.

Id probably wager the 7500 is way to old to run 1680x1050. Hell my old 9800xt bugs out with 1900x1200 (max resolution) on cat 8.3, and my Dell 3008 is yearning for some 2500x1600 action with non to be had.
