Mobility 9700p clock speeds?

Just got my new laptop in yesterday, 1.7 Dothan w/ 9700 pro 128MB, and was messing around with the omega drivers, and i noticed the clock is at 392, and the memory is only at 200. I did some searching (probably not hard enough) but i found regular 9700 pro's were running at slower core, and nearly double the memory speed. Just wondering what "normal" is on the 9700 pro's, and even some overclocks if applicable.

the mobile 9700 is actually only a 4 pipeline processor compared to the regular 9700 8 pipeline. So actually the 9700 mobile is compairable to the regular 9600 line, AFAIK the 9700 mobile is ~equal to a regular 9600pro.

9700 Pro normal clock speeds are 325mhz core, 310mhz memory.

great article thanks, i remember reading about the 9600 but missed that on the 9700...oh well, sortof disappointing, but considering its a 6lb notebook, its allll good in da hood

I have to disagree with that. My desktop has a 9600 Pro and my notebook has a 9600 Pro Mobile. They score with 10% of each other on most 3D benchmarks and their performance in every game I've played with comparable, with the edge going to the notebook for its superior LCD.

The Mobility 9700 Pro is comparable to a desktop 9600XT.

I have to disagree with that. My desktop has a 9600 Pro and my notebook has a 9600 Pro Mobile. They score with 10% of each other on most 3D benchmarks and their performance in every game I've played with comparable, with the edge going to the notebook for its superior LCD.

well the 9600pro mobile is a bit faster than a standard destop 9600, which makes it a bit slower than a desktop 9600pro; there really isn't much to dissagree with here.

Yeah, dissapointing. I got the same part on my new Powerbook and was pissed to find it only has 4 pipes. Works pretty good though, but not worth the upgrade path I chose to get it.

eah, disappointing yes, but i think it was worth my wait instead of getting the 9600 pro...i mean considering what i paid for my laptop and what it has, its been worth the wait, and the good graphics card is just kick ass.
