Finally GF wants to upgrade from 1700+!!! :D

So looking to get one of these from NewEgg:
Mobile XP 2500+ 45W $85
-or-
Mobile XP 2400+ 35W $87

She doesnt want to spend $100 for a cpu so the 2600+ is outta the question.. Not looking for a crazy overclock, just a nice, cool running, super stable 2.2Ghz would be more than fine for what she does (so maybe looking for something that gets a max 2.4Ghz OC).. Also, are the Mobile XPs pretty much equivelant to the desktop XPs clock for clock? Like Mobile XP 2500+ = Desktop XP 2500+? Heres the setup.

NF7-M.. yeah, M...

Yes and no. They're both around the 1.8GHz mark but the mobile 2500+ FSB is 133MHz while the desktop 2500+ FSB is 166MHz with the appropriate multipliers. That's at stock speeds that is. But clock for clock, if you use the same multiplier and FSB, they're both the same speed.

they are teh exact same cpu (with bridges changed), so performance is identical. the ony difference is die quality, mobiles have better dies. better dies=higher mhz/power ratio, so u can have a cool running quick cpu, which is exactly what a laptop needs, and what you want too
