Is it worth the extra $9 for the 2600?

Do the mobiles use standard XP heatsinks? ie Thermaltake SLK900A?

Bump cause I'd like to know as well.

Yes, the mobile chips are physically identical to the desktop Barton chips. Therefore, any typical HS (ie, SLK) will work fine.

It's only worth the extra if you are looking for the absolute highest speeds you can get. The reason is that the chip is slightly better, it will run at a higher clockspeed than the 2500's will at the same 1.45v.

I bought the 2600+, currently at 2400mhz at 1.6V.

You might as well go for the best you can get, this really is the end of the line for Socket-A*.

My 2400M arrived today.. IQYHA 0346 from NewEgg

It booted W2K at 12 x 215.5 no sweat, but failed benchies...

Now at 11.5 x 217.2 = 2497 (aaaah wtf ... 2.5ghz :) )

Still need more time on P95, but no errors for an hour so far...
I'm pumping more voltage than I like thou ...
,,, but,,, I'm beginning to think I dont need it either...

I will post my final results tomorrow.
