So my knowledge here is a bit old, but 'back in the day' the GeForce line was a bit hobbled with regards to its acceleration capabilities for professional software like CAD. It lacked things like hardware accelerated wireframe rendering and such. I don't know if the exact same limitations exist, but I'd wager that some distinctions still exist.
Now then, if your AutoCAD/Revit work isn't... super demanding, then probably either would work. But I'd guess if you're a power user in the CAD world you'd want a Quadro.
For the CPUs, your regular i7 should be essentially identical to a Xeon.
