Mobile Video confusion please help

I'm trying to figure out the difference or deskstop equvailent on the ATI mobile video cards, In particular the M6, M7, and M9. I know the M9 is better but how much of a difference M7 or a M6 extra.

M6 is Radeon 7000, M7 is 7500, M9 is 9000. Just look at how the desktop cards compare.

so the M6 and M7 is just a matter of clock speed? The M9 is a real step up from the M6?
