mobile Versues Desktop CPU........

How are the actually speed in a mobile and Desktop CPU. I know that the mopile pentium 4 is probably slower then the desktop pentium 4 right?? But by how much??

Lets say I have a pentium 4 2.0 ghz mobile cpu. In speed, is it equivilant to a desktop 1.5? is it slower? faster??

AFIK, mobile CPU's aren't neutered, they have speed step, and if you're on the AC Adapter, will run full speed when needed. The slow parts are the hard drives and the neutered video. We had some VAIO 1.6's and they scored just as well as a 1.6 desktop in most things math and memory related. It's the drive I/O and the video only nowadays.

the processor itself is the same as far as performance goes. heck, the mobile celeron was faster for a long time because it was on 100MHz bus rather than 66MHz bus.
