I have the Compaq Presario M2305NR laptop linked below.

On page 146 of the maintenence guide, I find the upgrade options for this laptop are the ML series of Turion processors. Given the information from ATI's website, the upgrade options include Turion processors, but they don't specify ML or MT series. The MT series is the 25w vs. 35w version of the Turion as far as I can tell.

My question is, should the MT series work with my laptop (I do love the battery life of the Sempron 2800+ I have now) or are my upgrade options limited to the ML-37 CPU? I figure I've upgraded every other piece of this laptop, so why not the CPU too :). Most of my upgrades were for increased functionality (e.g. DVD burner), but now I would just like a 25% clock speed increase, equal battery life, 64bit support, and some extra cache (a.k.a. speed and features).

For those that might be interested.

Apparently the chipset does support them, but HP/Compaq won't release an official BIOS to support them. They will work, but you have to have some special software to make all the power saving stuff work.
