I have a Gateway Solo 1200 Laptop and i recently did a fresh install of Windows XP Professional on it (the Laptop had WinME).

However, Gateway does not support Windows XP on this system, so they cannot provide me with any drivers for Windows XP.

Here's the problem: The modem and the Video Will not install properly. I don't care about the modem b/c i have Cable internet, but i really would like the video to be properly installed.

I went to google and found out that Windows XP is supposed to have a built in driver for the S3 Savage 4 Video Chip, the driver is apparently incompatable with the mobile chip, in that no driver was installed after WinXP was loaded.
SO upon realiaing that i needed to procure a driver on my own i did. I got a Windows XP/2000 driver and whenever i install it, Device Mangaer says "This Device Cannot Start" Code 10.

This is really getting to be frusturating. If anyone know how to get the Mobile version of the S3 Savage 4 working in windows XP, PLEASE HELP!

I really need help,

Gateway says that video driver version 11.90.11 for the SOLO1200 supports XP.
It's on their site.

I don't know if that's helpful or not.........it's probably what you already tried.
