Im getting the Sandisk Ultra II Secure Digital (SD) Memory Card. I need to figure out if its better to get two 1GB sticks or 1 2GB sticks. The difference in price isnt an issues, its somewhere like 20 bucks.

I want to find out whats better in terms of performance. If I get the 1 giggers, then I'm likely to use it until I see it noticeably getting slower, probably past the 700-800 MB mark, and then switch to another fresh one. What I'm not sure of is when will the 2GB card begin to slow down.

Any advice is useful.

BTW, its a 7 mega pixel camera.

All I know is that I have a 2GB Imation flash drive and that sucker flies no matter how full it is... so much faster than my Creative Muvo TX 1GB mp3 player.

depends

if you have a mobile storage thingum with a card reader built in then I say go with two because those readers are sloooow so its great to have the option of taking pictures while the other card is being transfered to the hd.

I hear that its an unavliable feature on the SD500 due to the fact that it doesnt save the files for regular mass storage device. Anyone know this for sure?

What feature are you referring to?

My brother just bought an SD500 with 2 1GB Sandisk Ultra II SD cards. You can't beat $80 per 1GB memory card! :) Another thing to think about, it's good to have a spare. If your 2GB card goes bad, you're done. If you have 2 1GB cards, if one goes bad, you have a backup. Just something to think about. You are aware that a 1GB card can hold ~320 pictures at their highest settings on that camera, right? That's an ASS load of pictures. I'd definitely go with 2 1GB cards. Like I said, I always like to have a backup.
