Latest roadmap i have seen puts Desktop Kaby in Q4 2016.

The second article is just reiterating what the first article showed.
First article: 2x 128MB
Second article: hence, 256MB

I am hoping that's significant. Like 2-hi stacks for 2x bandwidth significant. Why else would they say 2x 128MB rather than 256MB?

I just noticed what you were talking about. That's Skylake-C not Kaby Lake-H.
