Mobile Gaming

I am looking to upgrade my 15.4" lappy to play some games online.

Right now I am getting about 15fps in WoW and I would like to bump that up by a lot.

I once had an Inspiron with a Geforce 7800 which was great but it weigh like a truck when it came to taking it to classes and it wasn't very mobile with like 1 hour of battery life under power save mode.

I noticed Dell has some Inspiron lappys with a 3450 ATI card. I was curious as to some of the experiences others have had with gaming laptops.

Obviously I am on a budget since I am still in school and i'm not looking to spend more than 1000 if possible. (Kind of hard I know but hopefully the tech. has gotten better for less.)

Any thoughts on a good lappy for running WoW or other games better? 17" notebook isn't very ideal at this time so I want to keep it compact.

I'll join jdelrio22 with the same question (also a WoW player) with a twist - any recommended sites for ordering online that can send it overseas - with international warranty? Dell maybe?
Where I live, laptops are overpriced and underpowered.

What res are either of you looking for on the 15.4" screen?

Also, do you have any other requirements, regarding OS, or RAM capacity (not everyone likes to upgrade their own RAM even though it takes like 5 minutes, it really, really hard to screw up, and is generally cheaper)?

It is really easy, although I do know a computer technician that managed it

Managed what, to screw up RAM installation? I know one too... that is why I always take the extra 5 seconds to double check the keying.

I found a nice (local) deal on something similar to that - MSI GX620. 2GB RAM and a C2D instead of the athlon x2 for about $300 less than a comparable Dell. How is the build quality of MSI?

I found a decent deal at a local shop - HP dv5, 15.4 screen, 3GB ram, C2D P8400 2.24ghz, GF9600GT. It was the only one that matched what I wanted and happened to be a "special edition" - a very nice looking platinum-colored coating instead of the boring silver.
