I know the moderators and staff are a bit adverse to changing forums and forum names for a lot of practical reasons, but it seems to me this suggestion is necessary:

Remove "notebooks" from "SFF, Notebooks, Pre-Built/Barebones PCs" and make it the purview of the current "Mobile Devices & Gadgets". There is a lot of overlap between tablets and laptops because of all the new form factors like convertible tablets and tablets with attachable keyboards like the Microsoft Surface.

"Mobile Computing" could serve as the catch-all for wearable devices (smart watches, glasses, etc), smartphones (as it does now), tablets, convertible tablets, scrolls (soon), and whatever else is on the horizon. Small Form Factor computers have less to do with notebooks/laptops now, they are actually more linked to or have more in common with another category, "Home Theater PCs".

It makes more sense to change the names now than to wait a few years when we have a couple hundred threads similar threads split between the two current forums.

Just my two cents, but I hope the idea is considered. It would make it easier to find and post things regarding tablets, laptops, chromebooks, netbooks, etc, often which share (or will share) the same operating systems now as smartphones. There are even phones now that dock into tablets like the ASUS Padfone. Add a keyboard to it and is it a smartphone? Tablet? The new future of notebooks?

I don't know, but it's a mobile device, and that's precisely why we need a more general forum that reflects where the technology is going, not a designation from 10 or 15 years ago.
