Are the Mobile Athlon XP 2000+ processors as overclockable as the 2400, 2500, 2600 - meaning are the unlocked?

Thanks in advance. . . .

All mobile Athlons are unlocked, but I haven't even heard of anyone who had a mobile 2000, so who knows how overclockable they are. In that price range, you might want to consider a desktop XP2100, they overclock nicely.

Mobile 2000+ @ Newegg

The mobile 2000+ are like the T-bred chips, and not like the XP-M 2400/2500/2600. The XP-M 2000 only has 256k of L2 cache, while the later have the full 512k.

The only customer review at NE said his 2000 was running at 2.15ghz (up from 1.6ghz) on 1.7v. I'm pretty sure that the mobile 2000+ will OC just as well as the other mobile chips, but having only 256k of cache doesn't make it worth the few dollars you'd save.

At 60$ shipped, isn't this a 'great deal'?

Anyone else with experience on these chips, are they 'just as compatible' with motherboards as the 2400,2500,2600 are?

Just looking for any 1st hand info if it exists. . .

It's a great deal if it will overclock to 2.4-2.6ghz like the mobile 24,25,26's. Like someone else said, it only has 256kb l2 cache, but that's not a big loss if your are getting plenty of speed. If you pay $60, it only OC's to 1.9-2.1ghz and your missing half of the Barton's cache, you'll wish you had paid the extra $15!
