mobile athlon 64 DTR

will a desktop replacement mobile athlon 64 work in a desktop motherboard? it is socket 754, so i figure it will work in a socket754 board. i have an epox 8kda3j motherboard.
 
I wouldn't do it, unless you already have a custom heatsink. Regular desktop heatsinks don't work with mobile cpus.
 
It'll work, but make sure you have a heatsink that will work with a DTR chip. Most heatsinks that are screwed into the motherboard will work.
