I want to upgrade my Athlon 1600+ MSI KT3 Ultra 2 to Mobile Athlon 2400 or 2500 and get NF7 board since they are great overclockers. My quetion is do I have to do any type of mod to the cpu before i pop it in into the new board? Or it will just boot as 6x100 and after that off I go to adjusting FSB and multiplier ?

This would be greatly appreciated. Planning to order this week. Also what would be a safe voltage to overclock from the stock 1.45 Vcore for the mobiles, I am assuming 1.70?

My NF7-S Rev 2.0 accepted the mobile 2500+ barton without trouble. Just do everything like a normal chip.... BIOS reads my chip as an Unknown Processor 600mhz (6x100).... I just changed that and voila.

Some people are running 1.8V and higher through their chips.... I like to keep mine at 1.75V
