Mobile AMD Sempron 2800+

I have been looking for a laptop (for a friend), and came across this laptop. I will be buying it from a loacal Acer vendor. The value is huge, since the laptop will only be used for office applications, internet , antivirus, no games. But how well does it perform? I've heard that the Socket A Sempron 2800+ could do 8200 MIPS on Sandra and performs as well as the 2.8C P4.

there are refurbished laptops at tigerdirect anything is powerful enough for office applications. I think.
