can the mobile 2600+ be overclocked just as well as the mobile 2500+? and if it is, which motherboard, hsf, and memory would you recommend (the quieter the better).

thanks

I would say it OCs beter and at lower voltage and is only a few $ more.

My XP-M 2600 is currently running at 192 x 12.5 = 2.4ghz on 1.65v. The limiting factor is not the chip, but my 8RDA board, which doesn't like a FSB higher than 192.

Considering the 2600 is only $7 or so more than the 2500, I'd go with the 2600.

so can you guys recommend a good motherboard to use? from other threads, i see that the thermaltake volcano 12 is highly recommended. i just need a good mobo then. thanks

Either an Abit NF7-S v.2 or a DFI Infinity will get you good headroom.
